When most people think about their life in 5 years, they think about what they will have and what they will have done—their acquisitions and accomplishments.
It’s not a bad place to start, and is the foundation of much goal-oriented planning. Rather than envisioning a few key goals, we’re going to attempt to envision all aspects of our life.
Fill out the Where Will I Be? Worksheet with your accomplishments and acquisitions. What will you own that you don’t now? What will you have accomplished? Think about your destination and the path you would have traversed to get there.
For your accomplishments, focus on the ones you haven’t yet done. For your possessions, include both new possessions and those you expect to still own in 5 years that will be having an impact on your life. Paint a complete picture of your future life.
